Operation Flashpoint 2 : DLC + Patch !!!

Title Update / patch for the console editions of the game will arrive prior to the launch of the 'Skirmish' DLC pack on Xbox LIVE . The patch for the Xbox 360 will be available tomorrow, November 5th.
In "Skirmish". Players are shown going head to head in attack helicopters, deploying tanks and APCs and engaging in ranged and close quarters combat in the wide ranging new maps and missions featured in the downloadable content.
The 'Skirmish' DLC features four new multiplayer maps and two new Fire Team Engagement (FTE) missions featuring both solo and four player co-operative play. Hunt down SAM launchers hidden in the sprawling complex of 'Lumberyard' and assault dug in PLA forces and fight room to room in 'White Fang', two tense new 'Infiltration' multiplayer maps. 'Annihilation' multiplayer maps pitch armour and infantry against each other in rolling battles across a valley in 'Stomping Grounds' and in 'Force Dispersal' military bases separated by a strategic hill become a close-quarters killing ground.
New FTE missions include 'All Round Defence', which places gamers in control of air support and attack helicopters as they defend a fortified complex against relentless waves of PLA. In 'Uphill Struggle' players must capture a bunker under heavy fire from hillside reinforcements. Gamers can also recon the entire 220 km² island of Skira alone or co-operatively in a range of vehicles at day or night in 'Island Tour.'

So Close I Can Taste It . . . .

Woh !!! 32 players New OFP2 video, showing the PvP (player vs. player, NOT coop) Multiplayer mode. There are two teams, in each one are 16 players. PvP battles will take place in combat zones on the island. Accessing the whole island in multiplayer is only possible in 4 player-coop.

Well the day is nearly upon us to mount an attack on the island of Skira. I was a massive fan of the original Operation Flashpoint game on the old Xbox and PC. The scale of the game even then was breathtaking and the ways you were simply left alone with a map and a compass deep behind enemy territory had you gripped with nerves, how you could take any vehicle and use it to your own ends like infiltrating a chopper base at night with night vision to steal a gunship to use for a totally different objective or finding the sports rally car in a garage and just putting the toe to the gas and driving like a maniac for hours or till it was hit by an enemy RPG / Gunship. The game was also modded to fuck on the PC with the fans building situations and conflicts to try out. And this is where im slightly worried . . . .

This was easy on the PC but im fearing how this scope and freeroam will translate over to the consoles. I hope we dont end up with a blindless firefight mode like COD or a pale imitation of Battlefield Flag or Gold crate captures. Im hoping that 4 / 8 of us on a side can mount massive attacks on bases where objectives are either to attack and capture or hold and defend using the massive array of vehicles and weapons on maps that are 3 times the size of the Battlefield ones.

I hope we dont get shirked compared to the PC version that is released at the same time with an inferior selection of maps and game modes that will in the long run make this stand out over other combat shooters if they keep up the back up with plenty of DLC unlike Dice who just seem to turn their back on a title 2/3 months after release when thousands of people are still playing their games with a desire for more maps and game modes.

The graphic engine for this title is superb and from the video footage that has been previewed the gameplay will match up as well. I hope the multiplayer is good otherwise i think i might go like Micheal Douglas in Falling Down and go POSTAL !!!!
Anyone getting the limited edition . . . . ;)

And the mighty Skira itself

Autumn Madness

Ok first up we have the Ghost hordes most anticipated game of the year "Operation Flashpoint 2" that is going to take squad based tactical warfare to another level. Gone will be the days of people running in like Rambo getting 45 kills but getting killed 90 times ;) One shot you are history, levels will take an hour to complete on average and half of that will be spent crawling on your belly through undergrowth trying not to to be seen or take a sniper round.

OPF 2 : RELEASE DATE : OCTOBER 9TH 2009

Next up is the mighty "Modern Warfare 2" that will launch a whole new world of blitzkreig multiplayer and in your face single player campaigns. We have all seen the mental kill and death streak perks, new weapons and now you can rock a silencer and a red dot sight . . . . this is making me one itchy trigger finger nigger.

MODERN WARFARE 2 : RELEASE DATE 11TH NOVEMBER

Gentlemen start your engines . . . . We have had to wait years for it and its finally here "Forza 3" has been worth the wait from the recent playable demo that has been made available. The graphic are superb and the handling and physics are immense. Also in recent trailers we have been teased to shots of Jap styled tuner drift racing stages and also staright line wheelie bar DRAG RACING !!!!!!!!!!! We will be racing under the heading of "Ghost Hordes Racing / GHR" and will be getting to work on a paint scheme on the day of release ;)
FORZA 3 : RELEASE DATE : OCTOBER 27TH

And finally in the shops now and in most of our hardrives is "Halo 3 :ODST" that is proving to be a more than worthy stop gap until Flashpoint arrives. Firfight mode is proving most enjoyable and we are looking for people to join us on Heroic gameplay so get in touch.

Oh and BTW "Battlefield Bad Company 2" is looking nice . . .

Bad Company 2 Details

Gameplay in Bad Company 2 resembles that of Battlefield: Bad Company and takes place in the mountainous regions along the border of Russia among other places. Bad Company 2 will include locations in dense jungles and also sandy deserts within both story mode and multiplayer mode. The game allows players to play through missions using any tactic they choose. Like its predecessor, Bad Company 2 features destructible environments, however, more destruction is now possible; players can now completely destroy a building rather than just its walls (Whole fucking building's collapse including when taking the gold crate the walls give way so you have to EVAC quicksharp !!!). EA has stated that "micro-destruction", things like making small bullet holes in walls, etc., has been added. Bad Company is the second Battlefield game to have blood in it

Multiplayer will allow players to choose from weapon kits, which have been 'cut' from five kits to four kits since the first game, which includes "Assault", "Engineer", "Recon", and "Medic"; these are chosen before each spawn (NO SPEC !!! but in the multiplayer vids someone is using a PP 2000 ??? )
A new customizable weapon selection menu is also new to the series giving players the choice of different ACOG's or Reflex sights including short or long barrel grenade launchers; these are also chosen before each match (About time we got personal kits)
Each match will give players experience points allowing them to level to multiple ranks as they did in the previous series. Experience points will be gained by each opponent killed and destroying the objectives. The points gained will be displayed in the screen
A dog tag system will allow players to collect an opponent's tag when killing by melee
Vehicles spotted new to the game are Black Hawk choppers with Gattling guns (At last a stable vehicle to assault a flag with, i hope they have brought parachutes back for some SPEC styled stealth drops) and a mobile AA vehicle that looks like its a bad ass for taking out buildings.
Instead of the usual healthpacks you now have a difibulator to zap downed team mates back to life.

Fan voted, WWII-era weapons from Battlefield 1943 will be included in the game, but only owners of the game will get access to them in online play (Ooooh like i really wanna face up to someone with a UMP me with a fucking Thompson or a M1 Carbine . . . . .WHAT ???)

Street date for Battlefield Bad Company 2 of March 2, 2010 (WHAT THE FUCK ??? In the videos they talk about it being a November date)
